You are almost at the finish line! But there are a few things to keep in mind before the transaction is completed.
Clean house
You should spend the final days at the property cleaning the house for the new owner. “Broom swept” is what is expected, meaning all surfaces and floors are clean of dust and debris; refrigerators cleaned out and wiped down, and trash removed.
Final walk through inspection
Your purchaser will do a final inspection of the property on the day before or day of the closing. They will verify that everything is in working order and no items have been left behind unless contractually agreed upon.
Keys
You should arrange to have all property keys and any other important information, like appliance manuals, for the new purchaser at closing.
